Watching Marriage Story, and . . . the set dressing of their apartment. Damn. The apartment itself seems too big—though I’m no New Yorker—but the materiality of its livedness works. It unexpectedly reminds me of the background of intense lived home reality that grounds E. T.

Movies often have bigger than normal houses and apartments because to shoot you need extra room for camera people & crew.
