That same electorate currently denies ever having supported the war in polling. Explanations that are simple and absolve voters of their own participation in movement towards war are favored by then. This isn't hard.

Biden is one of those people who denies he ever supported the war. I think this sort of re-writing of the past is more dangerous in a powerful politician than it is in an ordinary person.

that's too simplistic. there was a lot of support for the war after 9/11 because people wanted revenge. also, part of the reason ppl turned against war was because leaders like Clinton, Biden, etc., turned against it. there's a back and forth.

I know this is unpopular but I thought Kerry ran incredibly well against G-Dub as an incumbent. And I’m not sure the war was as unpopular at that time as you may be remembering.

Yep. Kerry ran a quite progressive campaign, and would have been a good president, imo.
