It's a longshot but Murkowski + Romney + one other senator could make a world of difference. That's where the political focus should be.https://twitter.com/CitizenCohn/status/1209941081678340097 …

Should also target Gardner and Sasse.
-
Sasse has a primary in 2020, he won't take any big steps against Trump any time soon. Gardner more likely because he's staring down the barrel of virtually certain defeat, but I'd still say Lamar Alexander might be a more productive avenue.

None of them will vote conviction. All will point to an election coming in months. The Ds will likely lose three.
-
This isn't about whether they're willing to vote for conviction, but whether they're willing to vote for a real trial.

Lamar Alexander is my top candidate for #3 after Murkowski and Romney. He's retiring, has little to lose (unlike Collins and Gardner, who fear Trump will reduce support), must know Trump is a threat to his brand of GOP, and is looking at his legacy.
