Wilentz characterization of the Dunning school strikes me as a far bigger historical blunder than anything the 1619 project has been accused of. Yet it won't make a ripple.

Does one not normally write to an editor or publisher when demanding a retraction?

It's called "a letter to the editor" -- one editor is sufficient. Instead: "They sent their letter to three top Times editors and the publisher, A. G. Sulzberger" -- this is big foot bullying behavior.
