Corbyn, helped by a smart campaign and manifesto, got a honeymoon burst in the face of May's incompetence, irritation at the election's existence, Lib Dem/UKIP collapse, and some dissatisfaction with SNP in Scotland?

Also - nobody thought Corbyn had any chance to win, so Labour felt like a free protest vote. Then, with a less competent campaign, with people less inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, with more of a sense he *could win*, with Lib Dems & SNP recovering...
