Seeing people defend Corbyn by saying Labour did OK in 2017. Boris Johnson is a sinister clown, but he’s effective in a way w media. 2017 Labour didn’t run against, say, John Major or David Cameron. They ran against the inept, hapless Theresa May

I just don't see how FPTP is really the culprit here. If you go from down 2.4% to down 11.5% against your main rival, you'll do badly in any electoral system. You know who can complain about FPTP? The Lib Dems, who increased their vote share by 50% and lost a seat.

The idea is that if Lib Dems did get proportional seats, they could enter coalition with Labour to stop the Tories/Brexit. I agree in general... But I don't think it could happen with Corbyn.

Major/Kinnock? Heath/Wilson Round 2? I guess Attlee/Churchill rounds 1&2 were pre-TV.
