Taxes can easily be cut in a war. Depending on which ones and where they are offset by tax rises elsewhere. Still cannot avoid a deficit during a war.

We're not talking abstractions. We're talking about Bush. And his tax cut--which benefited the wealthy, and which he promised would pay for themselves--was wildly irresponsible, unnecessary, and exacerbated the deficit and debt.
