It is easy to read the wrong thing out of that data which is likely a symptom of the concentration of wealth over the last 4 decades rather than being caused by the great mass of Boomers.

Also question of how pensions figure in here, since older Americans in 1989 generally had pensions, which often don't figure directly in wealth figures, while Boomers today have 401Ks that show up as wealth.

Hello. Worker in 1989. I did not and do not know anyone with a pension other than state government employees. Never had a job where a pension was offered. 401k was the only thing. First official job in 1982.
