2. Much of the praise for Hill is merited. She was far and away the most formidable of the impeachment witnesses, had a strong command of fact & argument, and made Trump's corruption very clear to anyone paying attention.

3. But I think it's useful to separate out the witness part of Hill's testimony (her clear account of Trump's wrong-doing) from her policy advocacy (USA using Ukraine as a counterweight to Russia).

She was an amazing example of truth standing up to lies. Naming the "Ukraine did it" story as a Russian propaganda campaign made many GOP members of Intel wilt.

She said that anyone who questions fracking or the fact that Trump lost the popular vote by a mile and won only thanks to the Electoral College is doing “Putin’s work.” She’s a right wing neo McCarthyite loony, and can be added to the pantheon of neocons the Resistance adores.
