See, but that's actual criticism worth listening to. It's not elitism about what is and isnt supposedly "cinema"

Moore said pretty much ALL of popular culture perpetuates "a self imposed state of emotional arrest". This criticism aligns with Scorcese's while being more damning and even more "elitist". Scorcese said these movies aren't cinema. Moore said they are a sign that we can't think.

To be fair, Moore is critiquing the super hero movie as another manifestation of the moral hypocrisy of the human condition and an obsession with bygone youth. Scorsese, otoh, is just a one note shithead who doesn't like roller coasters.
