I attended many dinner parties w/Bloomberg prior to the last few elections. Invariably, the conversation veered towards his presidential prospects & he soaked up the attention. Mike, his friends & his expensive consultants love the idea of his being president. Others? Not so much

That does make a lot of sense. It explains a lot, too. I remember back in 2015, I did a cartoon: one panel, two guys drinking cocktails in tuxes. One says to the other about Republican field of 17 candidates: It's a candy store with a millionaire candidate for each one of us!

And if you have ever seen a cocktail wearing a tux then you know what a fancy drink looks like!

You summarize very well the situation. But I still don't understand why the D donor class would think he had a snowball's chance in hell. Few outside NY even recognize the name. Is he charismatic? Can he attract away from the rest of the field? I'm lost.

This is all going to end with Warren vs Buttigieg. Mayor Pete will win Iowa and shoot up the polls. Biden will drop our after he doesn’t win South Carolina, giving Pete the lead over Warren. Sanders eventual exit sends his support to Warren after Super Tuesday. Book it.

Nate Silver. Annoying but usually right.
