Life expectancy in America is going down, especially for the poor, so maybe "overuse of health care" is an esoteric problem.https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/1192090535059771392 …

I don’t know Jeet, Murdoch has a point. Who wouldn’t wanna go to the hospital for the fun of it?

Everyone knows the big problem of US healthcare is people not getting care early enough and then having horrid outcomes like toe amputations from untreated diabetes, etc. Worrying about too much healthcare might be an issue for Danes.

Any use of health care by the poor is “overuse” in certain quarters.

Only reflects an economy without hope. Google "deaths of despair" - actual medspeak term for upsurge in suicide, substance abuse death since economy crashed in 2008.

Plenty of research suggesting Pharmaceutical advertising also causes "over utilization" of healthcare. Only in this case it's unneeded prescriptions and Doctor's visits. Somehow doubt anyone hand wringing about this is calling for an advertising ban. http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.598.6929&rep=rep1&type=pdf …

Um, I think *use* of healthcare by the poor is what constitutes *overuse* in the minds of WSJ readers.
