Yeah, and I have a certain degree of sympathy for that. But I also think that can be recreated, or something similar created, in low-budget back-room venues.

I remember watching a Hitchcock silent, on film, with an audience, in a somewhat grimy Seattle bar. A jazz band played an original score. It was fun.
