Right -- National Review conservatism saw the defense of Jim Crow as part of a global struggle to maintain white (what they called "western") supremacy. Jim Crow was often linked in NR to parallel battles in Rhodesia, South Africa, etc. The same as Du Bois but flipped.

They really loom large in 1950s-1960s National Review. Buckley & others took repeated junkets to Africa paid for by SA & Rhodesia.
