Anecdotal liberal law professors are not stand-ins for liberals in general. Law is not politics. Law expertise is not political expertise. People who are great at judging the merit of legal arguments are not always great at judging the character of their colleagues.

Amar’s entire brand is being right wing jurisprudence’s one lib friend. His career is dependent on his uniqueness, and I don’t think he’s very influential among liberal legal scholars. In other words, he’s a professional troll and therefore not representative of liberal thought.
