It’s weird to think that two directors who came up at the crest of a wave of artists bent on independence from the corporate studio system would dislike the single hugest most culturally dominant ubiquitous product that system has ever created. Hard to understand why.

Spielberg’s a *bit* of a puzzle there given his output and aesthetic but I’m just imagining Woody Allen (who has made movies I love) watching an MCU movie and it’s genuinely funny to me.

I don’t know, I guess I love 60s Marvel comic books a lot and I’d be pleased if Dali or Picasso had appreciated the artistry but it wouldn’t blow my mind if they didn’t.
