Well if a responded says he likes Trudeau he most likely is going to vote for a liberal member of parliament.
Nothing matters at those rates.. we're looking at another minority government for like 16 months, then another election.
Those 16 months matter quite a lot. Especially since the clock is ticking on climate action.
The very problem with our electoral system: we put preferences for the candidate, the party, and the leader into a giant blender and then give it a name based on the colour of the smoothie

How does its predictive qualities stack up against straight polls of party support? (Again, genuine question -- I have no idea about how useful this poll is).
I don't know what the actual numbers look like but a LOT of Canadians vote based *entirely* on the national leader/party. I think a lot of people walk into the polling station not knowing the name of the person they're going to vote for, just the party. Don't know what % though.
