Most amazing political fact I've learned recently (a fact I should already have known, btw), is that in 1992, 55% of Asian Americans voted for George H.W. Bush. In 2016, 65% of Asian Americans voted for Hillary.

Asian Americans used to be reliably Republican voters. But the GOP basically drove them away with its hard line on immigration and its more general catering to xenophobia.

A lot of Asian Americans were either refugees from communism (China, Southeast Asia) or had military connections to USA culture. But GOP racism drove them away, especially the American-born ones.
