1. The Dems have a house majority to impeach. Trump's firewall remains the GOP Senate. Given Trump's erratic & destructive behavior, will Republicans defect in sufficient numbers to make removal a possibility?

The analogy is instructive, but also imperfect. Nixon committed a crime; Trump is laying waste to everything that Republicans purport to care about (and probably do actually care about in some cases). For this reason the historical pathways might diverge.
