1. The Dems have a house majority to impeach. Trump's firewall remains the GOP Senate. Given Trump's erratic & destructive behavior, will Republicans defect in sufficient numbers to make removal a possibility?

3. The Watergate analogy is instructive: the Republicans who stuck with Nixon as long as possible (most effusively Ronald Reagan but also Bob Dole & George HW Bush) prospered in the party. The ones who jumped ship early were seen as betrayers.
