Does polling data show this in MO, IN, or ND? After all, the median Senator represents an R+3 state

Yeah. Joe Donnelly and Claire McCaskill were going to lose regardless, because their states are majority Fox News addicts, so whatever Fox was talking about in October of 2018 is now The Reason these seats were lost. Poor logic.
-
Also Donnelly & McCaskill never understood or figured out how to inspire the minorities & liberals in the Democratic Base without alienating white middle class voters. This is also where collapse of industrial unions in these 2 states hurt.

It probably widened the margin of loss in Senate races in MO, ND, TN and IN. Those were losses of 5+ pts though. I can't imagine that Kavanaugh swung the elections that much. Meanwhile Ds won a lot of very close House seats in suburban districts where polling shows K hurt Rs.

on average yeah, but i think matt means that in close senate races last year, which took place and will tend to take place in red states, it was bad for the democrats in those races.

That doesn't translate to Senate races.
-
No, it does. 1) Democrats no longer have really any red states up anymore. They lost them. 2) Democrats still won 2/3 of all the Senate races last year. It's not like this is a chronic issue with losing most races.
