2. But there's a dog that didn't bark in Climate forum: GOP. Sure, Trump is a denier. But beyond Trump is there any GOP candidate, even ones who admit climate is problem, who are willing to foreground it as a policy concern?

3. Part of the asymmetry of USA politics is that all serious climate debate can only take place inside one of the 2 major parties. In other words, the full spectrum of climate solutions is only on Dem side.

4. Because only the Dems talk about climate seriously, there's a lot of pressure on them to advocate the policies that GOP would normally do if they weren't in denial: nuclear, tech solutions. Very similar dynamic to health care debate.
