1. I think a lot of critical confusion over recent Tarantino films comes from mis-genre-ing them. What if Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood aren't historical films. What if they are science fiction?

I don't deny the entertainment value, but we're dealing with Trumpian levels of "alternative facts". It is 1984. Tarantino had done us all a serious mis-service.

Now wanting to figure out a scenario for a Tarantino film about the way the 2016 election turned out.
I'd presume the alternative would be far worse, more grim, @ best have a more dogged, edgy humor than the oh no kinda likable over the top goof we currently have going on.
