1. I think a lot of critical confusion over recent Tarantino films comes from mis-genre-ing them. What if Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood aren't historical films. What if they are science fiction?

5. I pursue the argument about Tarantino working in Alternative History here: https://www.thenation.com/article/tarantino-sly-science-fiction/ …

IOW, Philip Jose Farmer didn't know much about medieval science.

Think that Jeet was using the term “medieval science,” interpreting Farmer, not quoting.

Will “history” be changed by Rick Dalton and others making movies in the 1970s when they otherwise wouldn’t have, in a tangible way that will change “reality” in other QT films? Or will there just be a winking reference to this changed timeline?

Could “Sail On, Sail On” have been the inspiration for Terry Gilliam’s “Time Bandits”, and in turn for “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”?

Annoying q but which book of Farmer’s contains “Sail on...”?
-
Try either •The Classic Philip José Farmer 1952-1964 (note the dates, there’s another volume) •The Best of Philip José Farmer
