But also surely you mean that the experience of watching something in a theater, with a crowd, is different from (and superior to) watching it in your own home

The edge cases suggest that there's no clear hard-and-fast rule. We'll probably see more such edge cases with Netflix original. Is "The Irishman" a show or a movie? Buster Scruggs?
