I mean... would it, though? Most of what Disney is remaking now is already public domain, just the specific new details they added are "theirs." You'd have 5-6 live-action ALADDIN movies now instead of just the one that can afford Will Smith.

If you have 5 or 6 Aladdin movies it would create an incentive for someone to invent something non-Aladdin to distinguish themselves from the pack.
