American Beauty was an amazing film, and you’re both missing what made it so: The middle-aged man fantasizes about a teen but, when he actually gets close to her, he sees her immaturity and recognizes the betrayal of trust/abuse of power that acting on his attraction would be.
-
That abuse of power and betrayal of trust are exactly what Jeffrey Epstein and his ilk attempt to rationalize away. American Beauty is the antithesis of Lolita, for instance.

This is like the forensic wall of a crazy person in a movie, with random photos of unrelated things connected by different-coloured threads.

We have: Epstein → Spacey → American Beauty → Clinton (looping back to Epstein); it's like watching Nash go mad in "A Beautiful Mind"

Does this mean Kevin Bacon is the secret Hollywood ring leader?

You 2 are awful. Women were abused and you're more concerned about using it to discredit people you don't like.

Wait, are we making the argument that movies, TV and music influence people to commit crimes? I thought we'd decided that was nonsense in the 90s with the whole conservatives vs. the music industry debacle.
