Round 27 to 30, round 48 to 50 add them together, minus 5=75

Ditto except knock 2 off 27 to get 25; give those 2 to 48 and just add 50+25

It's the easiest way when you're dealing with multiple digit sums and you have a piece of paper handy. The paper acts as a mental prosthesis for your short-term memory. Computationally efficient, memory inefficient. Left-to-right is the opposite and ideal for mental math.
