HRC's campaign was plainly flawed. But wasn't its central message – its only message? – that Trump is a volatile nightmare person? If anything she probably dwelled on it too much. He had no record. It was an abstraction.pic.twitter.com/LkDMxgnaOt

Idk...she had a lot morepolixy specifics than trump, and was less focused on him personally than he was on her by a lot.

Her discussion of Trump's danger was diluted by her insistence of presenting herself as a hawkish Democrat. Asked in 2015 who her enemy was, she said "the Iranians." Do you think that's a good message?

The question isn’t whether HRC’s message about Iran in 2015 was good. The question is what does her 2015 statement on Iran have to do with...anything?

If you go to the beginning of this idiotic thread you'll see it began with me tweeting about Trump's policy right now. And then someone jumped in complaining about people who portrayed Trump as a peacenik. This provoked me to note that Clinton's campaign is more to blame.pic.twitter.com/RPnmCRMrSl

How many people portrayed Trump as a peacenik? Off the top of my head, I can think of a handful (Justin Raimondo, Michael Tracey, Glenn Greenwald). I see these people as having less of an impact than the misjudgements of the Clinton campaign.

For all her faults, it strikes me as odd to blame Clinton for Trump's foreign policy when she not only (loudly) warned against it, but also tried to prevent it from transpiring. Is that what you imagine that you (or anyone in your role) did…?

Obviously you're not the only one who sees her as accountable. But if that's the standard, why do you suppose it is that people don't hold Al Gore responsible for the Iraq War? Anyway the idea that Clinton painted Trump as a dove, directly or by comparison, is truly nuts

Whenever people blame Ralph Nader for electing Bush in 2000, I always say Gore is more at fault (for, at the very least, not fighting hard enough on Florida recount -- in fact for not securing Florida with more groundwork). Same principle applies here.

Clinton’s being a woman connected to the first Black President stirred up an animating blend of racism and misogyny that familiar celebrity DT successfully leveraged in a climate of voter suppression while major media was mesmerized by the spectacle. Am I missing something?

I think the phrase you used was "blood on her hands." You were repeating it back, but it seems pretty representative of the tone people take when they talk about Hillary Clinton Is that the way that people talk about Gore or Nader's runs

I was repeating it back to illustrate how absurd it was. There are definitely people, though, who would argue passionately that Ralph Nader has blood on his hands.
