No, the lesson is that Clinton geared her campaign in a way that demobilized many previous Dem voters with a view to winning GOP voters, which didn't work out the way she planned. So those who advocated this strategy should take responsibility for what they did.

"On race/identity Hillary ran to the left of Obama" her considerable baggage (super-predators etc) made her a bad carrier for this message, something GOP & Russian propaganda exploited to discourage African-American voters, especially young ones.

Again, to back that up, do you have any of those exotic artifacts known as “numbers?” Jeet, have you ever canvassed, or watched a focus group? Over the last ten years, have you spoken to any Americans not in greater NYC & not on Twitter?

Dana, you're defending a campaign that had the worst Democratic Party electoral showing since 1988 against a realty show buffoon who boasted on tape of grabbing women by the pussy. Do you need numbers to know that campaign fucked up?

She won the popular vote. Maybe it’s hard to win third terms and trump didn’t quite underperform enough. Dems did well last two years in any case, so doesn’t seem like there’s a permanent problem w their approach...

The popular vote and $2 won't get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Dems performed well in last 2 years because Trump is widely hated. He was widely hated in 2016 too but Clinton managed to lose to him, which suggests a flawed campaign strategy.

Yes, let’s totally ignore the fact that Special Counsel Mueller definitively stated the Russian government “extensively and systematically” worked to help Trump and Trump’s campaign manager gave a Russian spy 75 pgs of polling data on the battleground states.

Depends on when you’re talking about. Before the Comey letters Michigan & Wisconsin weren’t close. Arizona, North Carolina, & Georgia were close.

Sigh. The Trump campaign explicitly target Michigan and Wisconsin, where GOP has been talking about reviving up "missing white voters" for years. Ignoring the warning signs on that was misconduct on a historic scale.

I think “sweeping and systematic” help from Russia, as per Mueller, and Scott Walker purging 600,000 people from his state’s voter rolls far outweighs supposedly poor campaigning by the Dems.

Hey, maybe they did that because there was online voter contact going on that they knew about but was off the books so Clinton’s people didn’t know to respond? AND THAT WITHOUT THE COMEY LETTERS WOULDNT HAVE MATTERED? Again, you’re embarrassing yourself. You really should stop.
