I also think the inherent Calvinism of a lot of modern Protestant evangelicalism combines with prosperity gospel theology in some really toxic ways - if you think all humans besides the elect are pure evil, and God shows love with prosperity, mass poverty starts to seem sacred.

Politically the prosperity gospel is aligned with what I'm calling conservative Christianity (among whites); theologically it's dramatically different; sociologically it's blurry.

But like race + nationalism it's an example of the danger of the conservative-Christian alignment w/Trump; they could end up as junior partners to heretics as well as ethno-nationalists.
