yes and no. there were members of the right genuinely stung and marginalized by buckley’s encomiums, but they often half hearted and yes not really permanent in any way as we now see

To be fair... While Buckley lived, we did seem to have a consistent and coherent conservative movement; after he died, that did go too far right to stay sane.
