Absent evidence of innocence or injustice the wholesale pardon of US servicemembers accused of war crimes signals our troops and allies that we don’t take the Law of Armed Conflict seriously. Bad message. Bad precedent. Abdication of moral responsibility. Risk to us. #Leadership

Real easy to do when retired. Note this is the same guy who actively fought to keep rape cases within command authority where victims know they will not receive a fair trial or get justice. Not to mention the war crimes perpetrated under his command.

High crimes and misdemeanors is a open-ended category. Pardoning war-criminals is impeachable. @speakerpelosi

And should have also been when Obama said we should be "Looking forward, not backward," and excused "We tortured some folks." Now John Yoo is a law dean. Jay Bybee a federal judge. Gina Haspel runs the CIA. W., too, should have been impeached for War under False Pretense.

I feel a lot of military folk are too white nationalist/right-leaning to care. After all, not a single veteran I've run into say they regret firing the gun.

Remember, military veterans voted for Trump 2-1. The idea that the majority of our veterans respect the rule of law and our allies has always been BS.
