1. I keep thinking about this amazing thread. It sheds light on the Dem leadership decision to slow-walk or stall impeachment. The main argument is a political one (impeachment meaningless unless GOP on board). Does it hold?https://twitter.com/justinamash/status/1129831615952236546 …

3. Even if only a few GOP congress break with Trump & vote for impeachment, it's a significant wedge. It's good to get on the historical record that even members of his party acknowledged Trump committed crimes. Pelosi's stalling forecloses that possibility.

4. This is the political possibility that stalling impeaching forecloses: the opportunity to reach Republicans (both in congress and out) who might be persuadable. There aren't many but it's valuable to create a wedge: https://twitter.com/maxberger/status/1129847914413645824 …

Will he actually vote to impeach or will his posturing end the second he has to show the courage of his convictions? Tweets are cheap.

This is why people like
@JeffFlake made me so angry. He could’ve chosen to stay and fight back for country and party, but when the going got tough he turned tail and ran! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
