      Joe McReynolds Retweeted Jeet Heer

Jeet Heer is a thoughtful, intelligent journalist and I take this question as being in good faith... But the fact that he's asking it shows how far the China analyst community has to go in educating people about the issues here.https://twitter.com/HeerJeet/status/1127219995535134720 …

Serious question: what territories do you see China wanting to annex?

It's a serious question! What are China's territorial ambitions that need to be thwarted (aside from, of course, the longstanding issue of Taiwan which is complicated).

Not that they want to annex it necessarily, but Africa.

"China is like Nazi Germany." "How so?" "You know, they want to use debt to gain hegemony over developing countries. "

The question was phrased in response to a statement that China was seen as an expansionist threat akin to Nazi Germany. The assumptions seems to lie there.

But that's an argument for China being like the US, not Nazi Germany as Stoller said.
