As I discuss in the essay, one key early Biden endorser who hasn't gotten much attention is Rep. Don McEachin (D-VA). McEachin is heading House candidate recruitment for Dems in 2020. So there will be subtle (or not so subtle) pressures for these candidates to endorse Biden

Most Democratic voters are not aware of what transpired in Biden's 1988 campaign. Secretary of State is a top position, but VP lent itself to greater association with Obama, if only for the simple fact that it entailed Biden getting elected twice on the same ticket as Obama.

Dont want this guy to win, but a neocon is highly more electable in the Dem party. Enough people realize this guy will keep status quo which is far better than tanking the country like a Warren/Sanders presidency.

VP is politically a safer position tbh, it's a good spot for future candidates to be groomed. Secretaries of State are held responsible for a wide range of policy mishaps.

Hillary ran for Senator of New York because there was an open seat, not because of any connection to the state. She put on a Yankee hat at a press conference and any one with a bullshit meter saw a fraud. Biden was way more authentic to Delaware.
