I interviewed the guy 18 years ago. He seems genuinely committed to democracy, a constitutional monarchy. And then, as now, he appears to have close to zero indigenous support. Not sure why he continues to get this attention.

It would be more credible if he were advocating for a secular republic.

The second time we impose the same dynastic monarchy on Iran will definitely be the time it sticks.

And, of course, that 1953 coup pretty directly led to the Iran of today & everything in between.

Is Pahlavi seeking a return to absolutist monarchism, or is this just a "visit the sins of the father upon the son" thing?
-
I mean, in this tweet Pahlavi is literally calling for liberal democracy. Still a bit distasteful, but it's pretty ridiculous for Jeet to be acting as though CAP is supporting a revival of absolute monarchy in Iran because they met with the Shah's son.

Monarchies. monarchism should be banned, made illegal by the United Nations. There is no lawful monarchy in the world, all were created at the end of a gun or sword.

After all, what regime is more oppressive than the Swedish one? King Carl XVI Gustaf rules with an iron fist!
