Yep. There is a distinction between 1) people who don't want Bernie as nominee because they are afraid Bernie will lose & 2) people who don't want Bernie as nominee because they are afraid he will win. Type 2) often pretends to be type 1)https://twitter.com/robertwrighter/status/1118346552521703424 …

Isn’t this NYT paragraph kind of a non sequitur? They’re worried that Bernie can't win the general election because he's “all too reminiscent” of a candidate who won the general election? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/16/us/politics/bernie-sanders-democratic-party.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage … pic.twitter.com/xUilwtsc0w

At this point Bernie has the clearest shot of winning out of any candidate, so type 1 people are either being disingenuous or are deeply stupid (i.e., the entire dem leadership).

What about people who feel "I'd vote for a democratic socialist just not THAT democratic socialist"? Because Bernie love baffles me when Elizabeth Warren is out here being what he could be if he wasn't so shitty

And there’s a lot of people who see him neither the most qualified or policy-serious candidate that get lumped into on of these two categories.

The same goes for Warren. Point out that polling shows progressive ideas are popular enough Warren or Bernie would be more likely to win than a bland centrist, and they find another reason neither should be the nominee.

Lots of handwringing about why the southern fried, NE educated, more-of-the-same Democrat candidates can’t seem to win a national election. It’s like they don’t want a landslide—that would be “too divisive.”

I don't want Bernie as nominee because I am deathly afraid Bernie will lose OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE that he will win and be a terrible president because his ideas are unworkable so he won't accomplish anything.

There are a lot of us in category 1, thank you. I get that Bernie’s supporters disagree and can respect that. What isn’t so cool is the common claim that those of us in Cat 1 are acting in bad faith.
