It's strange when artists - people - who are not merely smart but witty, self-reflective, self-aware, lose that. It isn't hard to imagine the pointy-haired boss is real, but it seems impossible he could have really written every "Dilbert" strip. See also: Tolstoy.

Adams’s interesting aspect is that he often writes a strip thinking he meant one thing—you can see in the collections he annotated—but the point made has killed the author: it’s not what he thinks, quite obviously.
