I think it's fair to say that the Flynn effect, if taken seriously, would mean that most humans in most of human history (and pre-history) were barely functional idiots. Since that isn't the case, it sheds light on the limits of IQ across generations & cultures.

There’s a lot of scientific evidence backing up the proposition that so,e of early human brain and language development was driven by access to tide pools with plentiful, easy calories from shellfish and the like. The brain needs lots of fatty acids to develop properly.
