At some point, we have to stop noticing how contradictory their views are, and just accept that they're malefactors acting in bad faith.

What's the right wing without unconsciously projected self-loathing?

Adorno was a reactionary in some ways too, but I think people on the right have Marcuse in mind
-
Marcuse was the only one who comes close to fitting the demonology and even he was much more complicated (i.e. very pessimistic about possibility of revolution).

It’s wild seeing people segue from complaints about Cultural Marxism to Adorno-esque complaints about pop music without so much as a pause.

It is interesting to see how on the right in particular, all signifiers are essentially free-floating. Even just the use of a name in derisive terms, without any explanation of what it is or means, can establish itself as something they "understand."

Erich Fromm was part of group+ had far better politics, contributing to rise of New Left. Marcuse was hardly quiescent and while making some contributions was not great on civil liberties. You r right about Adorno, Horkheimer+ irony of right wing view on cultural Marxism though.
