In terms of the truth or morality of praising Kim, no. But it's not as if there is no logic: Venezuela has an active opposition, NK doesn't, so we are dealing w/the existing regime. I, like a whole lot of people on my side, have been publicly appalled by his praise of Kim, and publicly disagreed with it as recently as...this thread. My point is just that there *is* a strategy, even if it's a terrible one repeating Obama/W/Clinton failures in Korea.

Except it's much worse because it also legitimizes Kim in a way that no prior admin did.
