Interesting. I'd not thought of that... but I see what you mean. De Moor really goes bonkers with the moon environment--and he uses a lot of heavy blacks for shadows, which is atypical for a Tintin book as well. Maybe an additional contributing factor.pic.twitter.com/WSIVdzk1dH
The black and white makes the background look almost like a photograph, which makes the rocket and characters seem even cartoonier.
