Very true. Also why old line socialists like Norman Thomas opposed the New Deal. They preferred Hoover because he would speed up the revolutionary process.

I really don’t think that’s been flipped. Just look at the Green New Deal’s emphasis on helping vulnerable communities first.
I think the New Deal was a good thing and made a lot of difference even if it was imperfect. I laugh about all the Bernie acolytes who fawn over FDR when you know if they had been around in the 30s they’d have all been Huey Long supporters.
