Marshall McLuhan & Edmund "Ted" Carpenter described themselves as kindred spirits. Carpenter married into the deMenil Family. The deMenils were known for their support of modern sacred art -- saw no contradiction -- and social justice. Carpenter supported the anti-war movement.
