Hmm. It's more explicit in the later books but the violence seems to me to undercut Paul Atreides as a hero (in one of the sequels he himself speaks of Hitler as one of his precursors from ancient human history).
I dunno, having a character launch a war that kills 60 billion people and say stuff like "that Hitler guy in earth's past was just like me" doesn't seem dicey but maybe too blunt. But Rorschach is a good comparison. Same stuff going on.
