Yes, "solidarity" in the minds of students who are a by-product of a culture that trivializes Native Americans. Did you watch the playoff game at KC on Sun? Same motions, but by tens of thousands. Yes, it's a problem. But blowback against students is way out of a line.

Maybe it's a difference between Canada and the States but if my kids did a tomahawk chant to an elderly Native man I'd ground them.

That’s your perogative. Watch any Atlanta Braves game, etc, and you’ll see it’s pervasive in our culture. I don’t like this. But singling out high school students, saying they should be punched, threatening families, etc, doesn’t enlighten; it evokes and outdoes poor behavior.

When did I say they should be punched or their families threatened? The kids acted like outs and their parents & teachers (who failed in chaperoning) should respond accordingly.
