I get it and find the notion morally indefensible. No one is innately evil. Baby Hitler is only a genocidal maniac in potentia. If you prevent him from becoming that person, there is no basis for vengeance, and killing him would be no different from killing any child.

No, I'm sorry, but this claim is almost as clueless as Shapiro's original assertion. Nobody is killing the innocent Hitler baby out of "revenge." Will maybe allow that the discourse has some obscure relation to revenge.
