Are there good essays by writer re their editors? I've read biographies of writers where editors play a role, and diaries where writers talk re editors, but is there an essay by a writer re their editor(s)? Would love to write an "Editors I Have Known" piece; looking for models.

The New Quarterly, Volume XVI, Number 3, Fall 1996 has a clutch of writers talking about working with Canada's finest literary editor, John Metcalf. https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=334746890&searchurl=tn%3Dnew%2Bquarterly%26sortby%3D17%26an%3Dmetcalf&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title1 …

I feel like there are various profiles of Gordon Lish, some by writers he's worked with, that go into this but I'm blanking on names right now.

Finally and self-servingly I'll mention my biography of Francoise Mouly focusing on her work as an editor of cartoonists & graphic novelists.https://chbooks.com/Books/I/In-Love-with-Art …
