One of the pleasant discoveries of the Hugh Kenner & Guy Davenport correspondence is discovering how much William F. Buckley helped Kenner, providing funds for writing The Pound Era & promoting book. Buckley sent out copies to all his friends, including Nabokov & JK Galbraith.

I liked his memoirs. Don't know if the rest of the work holds up.

He comes to mind, b/c I think of him as an Ellul or Will Campbell type figure who's perhaps falsely enveloped by (associated with) Buckley-brand conservativism. There's a lot of nuance there. He helped me out considerably. Here's Campbell:https://chapter16.org/gods-will/

Yeah, because he appeared on Firing Line & in National Review, Muggeridge is often seen as part of the Buckley ambit (especially in America, where people only know part of his history), but he's a more complex figure than that.
